PROTOMORPH from the eighties?

Investigating the protomorph mystery, we should look at this image from the years 1984-85. PIONEER featured the designs of H.R. Giger’s creatures in a series of Japanese magazine ads for their Zone home entertainment system in the eighties. (Giger created a video as well.)

Does this ad show a protomorph? Beyond doubt, these are not xenomorph teeth. What do you think?

'A monster designed by H.R. Giger starred in a 1985 Japanese commercial for the Zone home entertainment system by Pioneer. The biomechanical beast -- which was also featured in ads that ran at the same time -- appears to be based on illustrations Giger made for underground filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's screen adaptation of "Dune," which never made it to production.'

The commercial was produced by Giger.

It's possible.Prometheus showed that even when Giger wasn't involved, they'd draw inspiration from his work. The pyramid was based on his work from Jodowrosky's Dune.I guess it also depends on what the protomorph turns out to be.If it's like that then we might have another human/Xenomorph hybrid on our hands.

The Zone ad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX9lmdpkTyc) is very clearly drawn from his work on Dune (though his work on Dune didn't have the pointy teeth).

Cool find.  Hadn't seen this before.

That youtube video is very interesting. (Thx for S.M)

The Dome is moving, it is moving its head... Is it holding a gun? It looks like a huge living rock, a huge monster.

That looks almost exactly like his Dune pyramid.

Somewhere BigDave mentioned that he thinks that the eggs were produced by the silo/the building/the chamber itself.

Is it possible that the original idea introduced the dome/the pyramid as a huge living creature? Are these huge domes the mothers/the creators of the eggs?

Are the LV223 domes monuments representing these huge creatures? It would be fantastic, I think.

Maybe, reminds me of Fire and Stone a bit.I always thought the pyramid was borrowed from O'Bannon's Star Beast script.

Where is this? On LV426? Is it a war scene? Was there a war on LV426?

If it's Alien then maybe. It does seem to resemble Acheron/LV-426.

It was.  The Star Beast pyramid had its own atmosphere and murals as well.

I've been watching it on and off.  Seemed to get a bit one sided early on.

Just had another look - clearly I should've stuck around.  Patriots were getting flogged; ended up winning in overtime.

I didn't think the Falcons could beat them.I'd also have to say it's official. There wasn't an Alien Covenant trailer there.

I think Giger would no doubt used his unused ideas for other means to make him some money and so no doubt those who did the adverts maybe had Giger Pitch them a idea, or they came to him and said that work was cool shame it never got used, can we use it.

@Ati

Covered this a bit in the War on LV-426 thread in how yes maybe if we took Gigers ideas of how the Eggs are produced with Fire and Stone and how the Deacon became part of the Complex and the whole Cave/Outpost was Alive and Growing.

Maybe this could work?

BigDave - visit the links and you can compare the Dune version and the Pioneer version. He made a dome illustration for Pioneer based on his Dune version.
