How effective is a head burster or back burster going to be?

MemberOvomorphJanuary 22, 20173769 Views9 RepliesI don't mean to sound like I'm not waiting on the edge of my seat for this new film, but I don't feel convinced by the concept of head bursters and back bursters; the chest bursting from the original films worked because it shocked the audience but also it made evolutionary sense that it would kill the host and allow them to escape in an energy efficient fashion. This meant it wouldn't be too drained and would have a food supply.
Climbing up a hosts throat would be a large expenditure of energy and destroying the head would reduce potential food (especially brain which would be very rich and easy to eat).
Plus both the back and head burst would involve going through very large and strengthened bone (the spine and the skull), the chest makes sense because the ribs are easy to separate without the stress of necessarily breaking them.
Does anyone else have the same sort of feeling that they stopped thinking in the same details that they used to and they're just trying to force the feelings that people had long ago by doing the same thing with a slight variation?
