My theory on the fate of Shaw and Google Blackout on Alien Covenant info.

I don't know but I like the idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this turns out to be the case.  Perhaps David hooks Shaw up to the machine just to find out what it does.  Shaw then gets upgraded to Shaw 2.0 during her experience.

Daniels would eventually stumble across Shaw and free her from the device, but both Davids would argue that it might not be the best idea to unplug her.  They have no real idea what the machine is doing to her mind, or how she will behave after she wakes up.

Maybe it turns out that Shaw is secretly a spy for a religious faction known as The Order.  Yutani's Quiet Eye software picked up on Shaw's potential to be a traitor years ago, but the Company is able to confirm that she wasn't a Yutani spy.  She's something worse than that.

The visual polygraph program was fooled by Miss Shaw initially, but a number of irregularities were noted in her video calls to the company.  Unusual levels of guile and dishonesty were recorded by the Quiet Eye tech. It indicated that Miss Shaw may have had a hidden agenda.  Weyland considered not answering her calls.

Many of the crewmembers of the Prometheus had secret agendas of their own.  In my theory, the Company doesn't like to talk about what happened after Shaw was left alone with the David.  Mr. Weyland suspected that she was a member of the Order from the start but wanted a "true believer" on board.  This was a mistake.

Weyland was a superstitious old fool at the end of his life, so he put a certain amount of faith in Shaw.

Some feel that it might be a mistake to unplug her. Others feel that she is a traitor to the company.  A lot happens in between movies, and this new Shaw is no longer an employee of the company.  Her contract isn't up for renegotiation.  They can't trust her anymore.  She might start actively working against the Company. They don't know yet.  It might be safer not to unplug her, but Daniels feels she might be able to use her.

Yep, this is EXACTLY how I expect Shaw to turn up in Covenant; it'll transpire that she's the mother of all the aliens.

great feed back guys - thanks ! i hope im not spoiling the movie for myself though as i did with prometheus , having read 100s of fan theories when that ame out nothing in the movie was a surprise to me - however im addicted to alien lore and the films, so i reckon i will end up spoiling it for myself, why cant i time travel to the end of next year as i want to watch it now!!!!!!!!

That rumor came from a source that a friend has...

And so it can not be considered Fact... despite many things that was said way before Alien Covenant was announced (the source passed information in March 2015 about a lot of things included when the movie would start production)  and at the time those rumors seemed a bit off....  But then as time went on, Ridley had came out with comments that seemed to match what was said.

But again i cant say 100% sure if they was telling the truth, and also have to remember the Information was based on Paglen/Green Draft and so we may end up with a lot of differences.... i.e if we compare Spaights Alien Engineers to Prometheus.

They did also say while the information was in the draft, they claimed that changes could be made afterwards.... and Prometheus was the same... there was changes to Prometheus that was not in Lindeloffs drafts.  And then further changes after and during shooting.

For example, we have 2X Engineer vs Shaw Shoots, we had 2X Fifield Hanger Shoots and i dont mean the CGI vs Non CGI.... but there was a shot with Weyland being escorted to the Rover while Fifield was attacking.

But indeed the Synopsis and information with Shaw and Covenant does seem to be similar to the Source as far as Shaw playing a minor role but she Technically does not die.

And so yes the fact Shaw is not mentioned in the Synopsis and has joined shooting late does to me maybe mean she plays a Role that is related to a Plot Device as far as the Xenomorph or Similar.

Or she is to appear as a Flash Back Scene.

I heard a fascinating defense for the idea of Shaw becoming the Alien Queen, at first it may sound ridiculous, on the other hand its a bold, deep allegorical concept, Shaw who in her youth lost her MOTHER & FATHER, and had long sought out the truth of GOD/Creator/Engineers, we learn that she being barren cannot have children, she can never be MOTHER, through the circumstances of Prometheus and being impregnated with the trilobyte she's metaphorically a virgin Mary. Through the course of Covenant in her search for answers, finding our creator/finding GOD, David use the Engineer mutigen to transform Shaw. Her mutation has evolved her past the point of being human, she's obtained the power of a GOD/Creator She is now a MOTHER/ She is the Alien QUEEN. Quite mind blowing.
