MemberOvomorphJan-30-2016 7:21 PMI have new theory about engineers. Human in far space created engineers in their image such that they are capable of travelling through very far distance by carrying their genetic replica and plant life on suitable planets by sacrificing self. Engineers carry on this mission for many million years but something goes wrong and now they want freedom from slavery. They decides to wipe out their creator by undoing all life they have seeded on many planets all over many galaxies. I have theory that engineers are rebels.

AdminEngineerJan-31-2016 8:33 AMSo you think ancient Humans created Engineers to spread their genetic material across the galaxy? It's an interesting theory, one that would lead to a few dead ends and avoid explaining the unexplainable. How ironic that would be.
The Engineer on LV-223 didn't seem to like the look of Humans when he was awoken and kind of looked at David as if he "understood his pain". Almost as if he could see this generation of Humans already tampering withcreation, which lead to the Engineers creation/enslavement.
This is actually a really neat theory...You could be onto something.

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorphJan-31-2016 11:10 AMIt could be a premise but I have a different take on it....human astronauts drop a space doogie and it floats through space through eons. Eventually that frozen space turd lands on a warm planet and the bacteria come out of their frozen hibernation to evolve on a new planet. After some more Eons an advance alien civilazation develops space ships to time travel through space to find their creators and they find...humans. Their time space is reversed from ours through a wormhole so the war in heaven that was their past is our future.

MemberDeaconJan-31-2016 2:10 PMIts a interesting idea... i do think the Engineers are merely pawns in something bigger prehapse, and mankind being the ones that created them is a interesting concept and one that a few have pondered before... it cant be ruled out. But i doubt Mankind on Earth did it.
I think there has to be some other Race above the Engineers who created the Engineers, i think it depends how much we try and connect Engineers to Ancient Mankind and Gods and Cultures and try and figure a common theme.... but this has many variables and maybe they want something more simple?
I had a source who had supposed knowledge of the Prometheus 2 Plot, which is to be taken with a pinch of Salt.... they did say that Prometheus was not the first time Mankind had been to that System (Zeta 2).
Months and months latter Ridley had came out and sugested that Earth may not be the only place in the Galaxy that has Human Life..... now he could mean as far as Colonies that we have set up.. much the the aim of the Covenant crew, and Weylands Teraforming Worlds idea.
Or maybe he could be letting on that Humans are elsewhere in the Galaxy and not from Earth.
Ridley had said a long time ago, that the Engineers are a Race who have seeded many Worlds with their Genetic Genepool and the Sacrificial Scene does not have to be Earth, it just shows how these Engineers Seed worlds... and so if they have done it on other Worlds... then there could be a whole manner of Humanoid Life out there and maybe some are pretty much exactly the same as us..
So we cant rule out a Earth/Caprica as in the Battle Star Galactica Francise.... maybe the Humans did something like they did in Caprica for creating the Cylon.... which back fired on them.
One thing is for sure the movie Franchise seems to hint at multiple levels of Creation/Rebelion against Creator... to Creation then creating something that rebels against its creators etc.

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorphJan-31-2016 7:19 PMWell ultimately despite how many creatures might exist out in the universe the question of Good and Evil are universal in nature...our first view of that derelict alien craft and it;s monstrous technology is what capivates my imagination about what Aliens would think on morality and that comparison to Humanoid submission to good or evil. I had concidered that possibility also that Engineers were the result of future humans contact with a hyherachy of Aliens. I'm still speculating on the connections of Milton's epic poem to the next sequel...where the devil fits in all this. I can't get my head around it but I feel it's a most appropriate subject in regards to this myth making of a mythology.

MemberDeaconFeb-03-2016 11:59 AMI think they seemed to be loosely tying all Mythos of Ancient Culture and Religons together, they all do have some similar themes... and so maybe they was trying to find the similar themes and events and than portray them loosely within a Alien way with a splash of Giger Juice.
I have not read Miltons Poem all the way through and so i would have to have a look at it someday, but the Theme seems to me to be about their being a Central Figure at the Top of a Hierarchy a figure who is Devine in most cases. But in context of Prometheus they dont have to be Devine or Magical, but some Advanced Science they posess.
And so the Poem goes on about that this Higher Power/Figure has Dominion over everything and they have a set of Rules..... and the Poem shows us that some of the Creations of this Figure had Rebelled against the Rule of this Central Power/Figure... And that by Rebelling against this Leader and using or passing on certain Knowledge and using it for purposes this Leader Figure did not intend... is seen as a Act of Evil... it is a Act of Evil against the Figure at the Top of the Hierarchy. But does this make those who Rebel against the Rules and Laws of this Figure Evil? The Poem seems to show us about Rebellion and falling away from the intended ways and rules that the Head of the Hierarchy had laid out.
The Fall of some of the Angels and Fall of Man.... who had gone away from the ways that the God of the Tale had set out.... and doing so makes them Evil, in this Devine Beings Eyes and going against the Greater Power, and using Power and Knowledge that was not intended for others or in a way that was not intended without authorisation of this Figure at the Top of the Hierarchy has Dire and Deadly Consequences and results in Punishment.
This is what i have gathered is the back story.... and its a story that fits in with other Cultures and Mythos too... Including Greek.... where a Prometheus replaces Lucifer.

MemberNeomorphFeb-09-2016 12:46 PMBakul: Hopefully mankind are not responsible for the creation of the Engineers. I would prefer if they would be something else or if they share some of the genes with mankind. Maybe it could be that the Engineers are some distant relatives or if there is a higher life form that made the Engineers which in turn made us.

MemberDeaconFeb-09-2016 5:21 PMIn a Twist.....
Maybe Mankind could played a Role.... Mankind as in Ancient Man before Earth...
But we proved to be flawed and Rebelious.... so the Elders or High Beings created Engineers to replace us..... and destroy Mankind... But some of Mankind were Saved...
And taken to Earth, by a Faction of these Higher Biengs or maybe the Engineers created to replace us... so that Engineers then saved and nurtured us...
This Faction seeing maybe they could change us and get us to Worship them.... but we failed and they too saw that we had to be destroyed as Originally intended....
Or they was set for Punishment for saving a few of Mankind... these Engineers were to replace us, and serve the Higher Hierarchy... and not smuggle some of Mankind to Safety and then get is to Worship them... i.e they wished to play Gods and not Servants?
I think something like this could work..... but as far as Mankind creating the Engineers i dont think thats the way to go...

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2020 5:24 PMThe engineers are human. Plenty of evidence in the movie. You should try watching it sometime without the blinkers Ridley put on you.
