Right, the Engineers are one of many Races in the Galaxy. They seeded earth with life using the Black goo millions of years ago. One of their insurance policies to ensure their creations never become a threat is to leave the clues and address to the Promethius planet so if the humans ever got too technology advanced they would travel their and be wiped out. Jump to 2000 BC where humans have got going on earth but along comes the Predator Race and takes over. On one of the Engineers survey missions at this time to see how their life seeding is going they encounter the Predators and become enemies.
Cue the Engineers using the multipurpose wonder black goo as a new weapon. The lone Engineer in his horseshoe ship infects some Ancient humans and starts a cycle of original Alien creatures which leads the predators to nuke their earth cities as depicted in Aliens vs Predators.
The predators manage to capture the Lone Engineer but not before he sent off a warning report to the Promethius planet military outpost. The engineer was held captive and under study by the Predators during which time they built the underground Pyramid test centre for their new warriors. Perhaps a couple thousand years past before the Predators got the info they needed on the Engineer home world?
So around the year 100BC they infected the Engineer with an Original Alien Queen and sent him off to his home world in his Horse shoe shop to destroy them. Along the way the Predators stasis field that was to keep the Alien/Engineer combo fresh on the long voyage failed. The Queen burst out the Engineer causing the crash on Ripley's Terraformed planet. The queen having laid her eggs in the ship wandered off into the barren planet looking for hosts And is indeed still on the planet frozen in a glacier!
Around the same time the Engineers, 2000 years before Alien were working on the Promethius planet to improve the black goo bio weapon after the warning from the lone Engineer about the Predato enimies. They were too good at their work and it went wrong leading to them abandoning the planet several thousan years before the Promethius arrived. The lone Engineer that woke up thought the humans had finally advanced enough to be destroyed While the snail alien thing wiped out all the crew. This Alien is different due to the work carried out before to improve the weapon 2000 years ago that went awry. It's possibly a much improved killing organism over the original alie?
Any way David and the bird got into the horseshoe ship and started to travel to the Engineer home world, not the Ripley planet that is seen in Alien a few years later. What they will find on the Engineer home world is anyone's guess but I'm thinking the predators got there after knowing the infected lone Engineer plan had failed and had great time hunting them all!!!!!

Yes Predators are part of the expanded universe that is AVP as well as its own Predator universe. In which now the AVP Universe could have the Engineers added to it.
I dont want to jump all over your theory and attempt to say this is not going to happen as far as the next movies go... but its not going to have Predators in it, but it could do.. just i doubt it. Yes the Urns writting is different to the Engineers other writting and those on the Urns look more like Predator... But i dont think thats the case....
However as far as the expanded universe of AVP... then yes we can explore things that go against the Prometheus Universe and so we can in the AVP universe have it that the Urns are created by the Predators...
Their could be a Race above the Engineers and Predators who created both those Races.
As far as a Predator connection with Prometheus... it could be the Engineers encountered the Predators and a War began... maybe the Predators are a Race the Engineers created and a Race who then grew Technologically advanced and a threat and the Engineers realised they had to wipe the Predators out and also they would have to have a insurance policy with other races that they had created to prevent them from doing the same.
The LV-223 outpost clues being a Trap as you describe is one valid and plausible explanation.

As far as how Aliens Franchise connects to Prometheus well thats a Topic that has been debated for 5 years on here and its a Topic that Prometheus started to Answer and one that the Sequels was supposed to cover... however in how much detail now we have a change of idea and concept with Alien Covenant?... who knows!
But i shall leave that for other Topics so as to now de-rail ideas of how Predators could fit within the Franchise. Leaving this Topic to come up with ideas of how Predators could play a part.
