An idea came to my mind that Neil Blockamp's new film could be a dream sequence Ripley has in cryo before Alien 3. That, or, Alien 3 and resurrection are the dream sequence.

Very unlikely they will do that, writing out storylines as having been dream sequences are considered the pinnacle of lazy writing.
