Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

This never made sense to me...

So I wondered this quite often, If the Aliens (Xenomorphs) were discovered in the future in the year 2179 and Alien vs Predator came out in 2004 and AVP:R came out in 2007 and that was set in the past. Before the Xenos were discovered. So how would this make sense? Was something tied in in the Alien movies? What do you think? Thanks! -GojiFreak23

In 1979's Alien the Nostromo picked up a "beacon" being emitted by an Engineer Juggernaut on the surface of the moon Acheron LV-426 - date June 3rd 2122. 2179 is when Ripley was rescued after spending 57 years in hypersleep.

In 2004's AVP, A Weyland Industries expidition discovers an ancient pyramid beneath Bouvetoya Island near Antarctica, witin which was a crogenically frozen Queen Xenomorph - date October 10th 2004.

In Alien the inference is that the Juggernaut, filled with a cargo hold full of Alien eggs, has been there for a few thousand years (2,000 - 4,000 years according to Ridley Scott), whereas the Queen has been frozen in Antarctica for much longer (around 10,000). What AVP is postulating is that the derelict Juggernaut on LV-426, is probabl not the only vessel carrying Alien eggs, and that these ships aren't the only places to find these eggs.

Of course man fans consider the AVP movies to NOT be part of the same "cinematic universe" of the Alien movies, and the studio 20th Century Fox will never confirm nor deny the two movies connection to the Alien "cinematic universe".

Considering they are making a "Predator VS Archie" comic soon, I think it's safe to say any merging of Predator with other franchises is just for laughs at this point (many think it always has been) and that any timelines should be taken with a "grain of salt" so to speak.

While I hate, AVPR and cannot think of a more unenjoyable experience I've ever had at the theaters, I did like how it connected the predators with the Alien series explaining how we jumped so far ahead in such a short time.

I personally consider the AVP movies cannon, but as with all crossovers there will be some differences between them and their source.
