Prometheus 2 Finally Filming? No Spoilers Yet

The ONLY thing Scott has confirmed is that the script is written. He'll begin shooting The Martian in November. He gave indication that he might make Blade Runner 2 right after that.

Well we would need more sources than that.

Its not impossible that the movie is being shot soon, but not at the moment as Fassbenders Schedule is a problem right now and Ridley is shooting the Martian in a few months...

Ridley has a few other projects after the new year including one with Fassbender thats a short movie... mind you in the past companies have used false movies to actually be cover up for shooting a different movie or scenes.

So maybe Ridley and Fassbender could be shooting some scenes after the new year or maybe they really are working on a different project together first.

Rildley has not officially said if he is working on Blade Runner or Prometheus part 2 yet, well not in which order he would do them only he has the drafts for both movies just not at the moment time to shoot either due to commitments by himself and not to forget cast... Fassbender and Ford.....

So i presume we wont see main scenes of one of those to be shot at the earliest fall of next year. This is just  ASSUMPTION by me, schedules of all parties would rule out no chance of either movie being shot from now till Summer.

This is just based on lots of speculation as far as some plots and interest in Guy Pearce wanting to be cast, this does not mean he has been cast...

I for one can not see them doing a prequel to Prometheus a prequel would offer nothing to the plot that does not have to be covered... only prequel elements would be a few flash back scenes, maybe of Weyland, and maybe of the Engineers in the past but they would surely not be the main elements of the movie as far as running time, these elements would surely have to revolve around..

1) Do we see Shaw and David find Paradise and what they find?

2) Do we get shown what happens to the Weyland Company on Earth now and what interest would there be from them, or Yutani as far as what became of Prometheus mission and its crew.

3) What becomes of what is left on LV 223, we have Hammerpedes, a Deacon on the lose, and if there is more than one Hanger.. (David said there are many ships so thats not just the Crashed one and one David Hijacked but more) then there has to maybe be more canisters of Goo or other Bio Weapons and Temples.

I will still stick my neck out and say that Prometheus 2 and Blade runner will be worked on partially side by side but mainly one after the other and thus filming i ASSUME  wont start to next fall for one and not till 2016 for the other and so i dont expect to see both Prometheus pt 2 and Blade Runner Sequel untill late 2016/early 2017. At the earliest

I find it disturbing that from day one we are told that Prometheus was 2 movies...then the script is written but the month filming was to start we get a completely different agenda without explanation.  Ah but who cares if there are no spoilers this time, I don't mind not having much info on it at least till the first trailer.  I think they should hold back on the info.  What I really need is the self control to stop myself from seeing any trailers and invest in some go LSD> It is interesting that Ridley Scott is directing another Sci-fi movie, which I hope involves real Martians.  Would be cool if there is a tie in to Prometheus Universe.  That would make up for all the Troll crap.

ALX - I understand your enthusiams for this film! I can't wait for it to finally reach theatres! Unfortunately, we must wait for the initial filming and such to get underway! :)

True True... but now the Comic Books are comming out, and Dark Horse said there are some things they could not cover, so as to not tread on the toes of the Production staff of Prometheus Part 2 as well as Fox and Ridley green lighting some things the comics can cover, means that well Prometheus 2 as far as plans is done, we have a draft and i would assume indeed concept work or some part of it has been done, even if roughly.

I think its only a matter of time as far as Fassbender and Ridleys Schedules as far as to when they will start shooting some or all of the movie, we do not know how much they have done already.

Right back as soon as Prometheus came out, i felt it would made sense that while they have the set up for the Juggernaughts and Fassbender and Rapace on set, it may have made sense to shoot a few shots of Shaw and David on the Jugernaught after Prometheus shooting wrapped up.

Have they done that? who knows...

I think we would get more news come through once the Fire and Stone Comics are all out,  so in the new years and i think after the Martian is out Ridley may give us then some clues as far as potential time frame... i.e to expect shooting etc to start next summer, next winter or early 2016....

I do suspect they could even get the movie done by the March 2016 reported date, but i think untill the new year we would not get any more clues and i can not see the movie is being shot now or even starting to do so..

The Martian will come out November 2015 Shooting well prep work for shooting is under way, reasons for long release from shooting soon to release i.e a year, could be Ridley has other projects in pipeline too, infact he has a few, and one is a unamed Sci Fi short with Fassbender due to shoot next year.

Cover up for some Prometheus Scenes? Maybe maybe not..

I dont think we would see Prometheus 2 before March 2016 and then i would say that is very optimistic, and maybe a fall 2016 or Spring 2017 could be more likely unless Blade Runner is worked on first and unless Ridley has no more commitments and works on both movies side by side..
