Engineer's intent, and the role of the aliens

Here's my theory. I just thought of it a couple years ago when the movie came out.

"Aliens are "smart" because the larval infectant stage is of 'brainy' matter itself, and binds the nervous system while it 'matures' in the host body. While attached, it 'downloads' all existing information of the host, thus giving it a headstart in life. It pulls from this storage-bank of information while it starts learning life through it's own eyes - meaning it's still young and naive in terms of experience, but has some knowledge. Each successive 'birth' contributes more and more of the host bodies 'hox' genes to the alien offspring, which is why sometimes they look more human... the resultant of this succession is the engineers, the 'white guys'. This is why that species 'planted' human life - so they could use the aliens to cultivate more of themselves. The race of engineers seeks all knowledge, and eternal reign, they persist through billions of years with this as their method of ensuring prolongation of their species -> humans -> alien infection -> reincarnated white guys.

Ever wonder why the adult alien's skull is so elongated? its because of its massive storage potential - it needs the extra brain space for storing the knowledge of the person it hosted on.

It's all made-up anyways... to me, these ideas seem like they would fit the story-line.

Let me know what you think!! :D

Well I love your theories...Borg soul stealers downloading you some where else?  LOL White Guys! I always thought their heads were big to help vibrate cyber terror and read it's prey like sonar,  your idea is Deeper.  It's all a matter of discovering the knowledge to how far down the Rabbit Holes go into each other.  Adam and that damn fruit! Glad it wasn't a flower.  I'm sure there's some kind of engineer cerebalmonial act like a One way mission for a Space Jockey KamaKazi Commando.   I don't know if it would be possible for a film to induce a DMT trip to the hospital.  From a Human point of view of Aliens, I think the animated film Stormship Troopers: Invasion 2012, would make a good answer for that.  Great film by the way.  Even if you found out later it wasn't Prometheus 2 and you weren't watching it at the theater.

It's something I've sort of been thinking about as well - that the alien also inherits intelligence & genetic instinct from the host.

If true, every Alien & hive would have different intelligence levels.  If "IQ's dropped" while Ripley was away, then the hive at Hadley's Hope would be less intelligent overall.

If Shaw had the highest IQ of the Prometheus crew (like in Spaights' script), then Shaw's "baby" might gain some of her intelligence.  Although maybe "it only takes half a brain", and the Trilobyte became more intuitive than intelligent...The goo form of the Alien DNA has the potential to blow people's brains, morph their heads & turn them into mindless zombies.  If it's been specifically designed to take intelligence from the head, that might also explain why the head/brain, "tricking the brain", and the trick is "not minding" are so important.

I think it's what's inside the head that counts in terms of the recurring head symbolism. The pancreas is kind of like a second brain in a way. Neurons in the pancreas interact with the brain early in development, and the pancreas is responsible for what we call "gut feelings".  Maybe the Alien is more instinctive than intelligent by nature, and it just intuitively/automatically knows things about its surroundings.  It can learn & remember, but it's "free of delusions of morality or logic". Driven by instinct. Almost like a subconscious urge. Sometimes displaying MOTHERLY intuition or telepathic communication between the hive (in Aliens).  Weyland already knows how the human mind works (and by extension parts of the Engineer brain).  They can trick any Engineer or human brain back to life, and can even monitor the subconscious.  They need to learn how the Alien's brain works... So Weyland-Yutani can trick one back to life. They can just kill one and reanimate its cells later  once they understand more. But nothing ever works as planned...

Shaw had "good survival instincts" "in her". Maybe David was actually trying to give her a compliment when he said he didn't think she had it "in her".  Shaw was intelligent & instinctual enough to survive. She managed to create life so she proved she had "half a brain" because anyone with half a brain can create life...  Shaw's instincts would be in her 'baby", and could be part of what David was looking for "in her".   In the Spaights script David reads all their psych profiles & calls them all stupid.  There are different forms of intelligence, though.  Maybe Weyland wanted crewmembers who would blindly follow his agenda; or ones who wouldn't ask too many questions. Perhaps the Prometheus crew was selected specifically for their low IQs and manipulability --meaning their ability to be "tricked".

I think Weyland corp has made a habit out of tricking peoples' minds..And that their dreams were being watched so that David could learn how best to manipulate them.  Weyland used the "big questions" to get Shaw onboard but he always had his own agenda.  He talks about his loose morals and how he's willing to do anythng to get "ahead" in the TEDtalk.  David tricks Holloway into agreeing to anything and everything.  They're constantly tricking people into dying & brains back to life.  Maybe the crew has always been expendible and it all serves some higher purpose to Weyland.  Maybe the Prometheus crew were more than expendible. They were almost "sacrificable"..

Cool analysis Viriality because I was thinking from that speculation spawned this idea, what if the Engineers although not related to the xenomorphs but still need them to "absorb" DNA and certain instinctual knowldge. It's possible that Weyland needed their ability (prometheus crew) to be manipulated because the Engineers do the same thing with mankind and use us for that reason. They basically need us top survive in terms of gaining new knowledge so that they may reign eternal.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

The only reason in my mind why Weyland uses us is for obvious money interests and military agendas.

VIRIALITY - What a very interesting hypothesis you've presented! Thank you very much for sharing this with us! I definately like the premise of the Alien larvae adopting memories form t heir hosts - quite a believable notion! :)
