This question I wondered just in conjunction with the fact that both shared the same Alien universe and are considered the most influentional over the franchise? But how about their off-screen relations? What do they really think of each other professionally?

SCRUTINIZER1 - You know, I've never actually considered the question you've just posed? Most fascinating! I honestly haven't the slightest clue as to what Cameron and Scott think of each other; but now that you brought it up, I'm going to start looking for an answer! :)

Actually I was looking too, but failed to find something substantial beyond his opinion of Prometheus which was that he liked it more than Aliens 3 and 4 and inspite of it ending up not very well logically he liked its visual style and felt it definitely should have been done.

Now that's incredibly compelling! I'd no idea Cameron enjoyed Prometheus more than Alien 3 (I could see why he didn't like Alien 4). Truly fascinating information! :)

If i remember correctly Ridley has a lot of respect for Cammeron, and vice versa.

Cameron loved Ridleys work on Alien and found it a pleasure to carry on such a great story.

Ridley had commented that the Queen idea made a lot of sense.

So i dont think there is any dislike at all, if anything i am sure they would agree on some disapointments of some of the other movies in franchise.

Well, i'm not sure they're "friends" as such and i would be suprised if they were. Cameron is very arrogant, he believes his work is better than anyone elses and rarely shows any other film-makers the respect that they probably deserve.

I can remember a story about him getting in David Fincher's face and having a right go at him because he killed off his beloved Newt and Hicks. Cameron wanted them to walk off into the sunset and live as one big happy family with Ripley. What arrogance!

He left Giger out of the loop when making Aliens and ripped off his monster.

He believes that the Aliens in the second film were an improvement on the Alien in the original, don't make me laugh Cameron.

In his entire career, he's made only two good films- The Terminator and Terminator 2, Aliens was just average imo.

Rant over.

The poster was good though!

He made a few more than that lol only few mind..lol

I dont usually lissen to interviews much on directors anyway as a lot of them can be argogant etc,  even George Lucas can be...

Ridley Scot sometimes comes across that way i guess a lot do, i never see John Carpenter comming across that way though, or Peter Jackson, but boy some other do like JJ Abrahams.

To be fair i think Aliens was a good movie very good, but i do think killing off the other characters was the right thing for Alien 3, i mean was they really going to explain how Newt would have aged, as Carrie would been 15-16 when doing Alien 3.

And while they could have had Hicks Survive i did like how Alien 3 was trying to go back to Alien by having that Horror element and a Xeno that hides in the Shadows, and that the Prisoners and Ripley was up against the odds, as they had no real Weapons or Military just as in Alien.

The Happy Ending part well would been ok to close the case on having Ripley in any other Aliens, but i think they way they went forwards with Alien 3 was the right thing to do.

Yeah, i agree BigDave, Lucas is very arrogant also. I'm glad Star Wars as changed hands and is going forward without him. He did an incredible job with the original three i.e Episodes 4, 5 and 6, but then made a complete hash of the prequels.

It just goes to show that film-makers can make something great one minute, then completely screw up their next project.

Ridley is considered one of the best film makers in history, but we all know that he as made some right stinkers.

I'm remaining optamistic for Prometheus 2 though.

The poster was good though!

I think they have a mutual respect for one another, and also a healthy dose of competetiveness!

James Cameron can sure spend money, whereas in general, Ridley has had to make do with much less budget-wise. However I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing!

SCRUTINIZER1 - That's a fascinating piece of information you've presented! I had no idea Cameron was such a...monster! Most compelling! :)

Ridley knows where the budget of a big sci-fi movie should go and it goes towards the monsters, set design, and script. I dont alot about the Hollywood movie industry other than the good directors that come out of it. He also gets A-List actors so he can focus on the visual style. Cameron was arrogant and if he did get into David Finchers face than he shouldve realized that he wasnt the director of the Alien franchise anymore and left. I like Alien 3 nothing wrong with it except for the creature when came out feline when it came out from a dog or an ox depending on which extended or theatrical cut you watch.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno
