Right after shaw retrieved the remains of the android and
every other tool she can bring with her, its possible she could
learn every detail of the mission and rebel against the company
and then pose as a real threat to whoever is now responsible.

this makes me think about sarah conor's character
developpement when she learns about the company's
motivation.

I like this idea. Shaw rebelled against the company's wishes in small ways already.

David wanted to freeze her and take her back to earth. Ford wanted to put her to bed as well (but Ford was just following protocol, possibly unaware of why David/Weyland wanted her frozen...). There might have been ulterior motives for getting Shaw back to Earth, and for why David suggested going back to Earth.  Shaw, in a way, rebels against David's wishes and continues her own journey guided by her own search for answers.

I don't think David has freewill yet after Weyland dies, but Shaw does.  She chose to hit Ford and makes a run for the medpod, she instinctively knew not to trust David or the company. She had survival instincts, suspected something was up. Who knows what they were really planning to do with her after they froze her? She acted on very little info, but managed to survive and continue her journey. She managed to get it out of herself -- the ultimate act of rebellion against the Alien. She overrides the male only programming of the medpod.  Vickers told her not to touch it, it's expensive. Shaw is a survivor as David noted. She's also a bit of a rebel.  Females have higher pain tolerance. Pain is mainly psychological. Shaw doesn't just believe, she chooses what to believe.

David could harbour his own desires to rebel against Weyland corp's programming -- he said that when Weyland dies he imagines he'll be free.  Freewill and rebellion against the company's wishes may be important.  I actually view the cross as a symbol of rebellion as well as sacrifice within the series. When Ripley jumps into the lava in Alien 3 she forms the cross, it's an act of sacrifice and rebellion.

I agree totally, the themes of rebeillion and sacrifice run through the whole Alien series.  We don't know for sure yet, but it seems quite possible that the LV 223 Engineers are themselves some kind of rebel faction.

Shaw is forced to rebel against Weyland's wishes because she had a totally different agenda than Peter Weyland.  He was looking for the secret to enternal life and any other next level technology that he could reverse engineer and make more trillions off of.  Shaw was merely a pawn in his game.  Shaw actually wanted to meet her makers and interact with them.  In short she was looking for the answers to all those big philosophical questions llike why are we here.  Instead Shaw got a lecture from Vickers on how she would not be allowed to do that and it would be Weyland personnel handling all the interaction with the Engineers.  In short this mession was never what Shaw thought it was going to be.

The whole premise of the Weyland-Yutani Corp is that they are so selfish and full of greedand they dont want anyone messing with their plans, kinda like nowadays with big businesses and politicians. Shaw is a survivor and a smart one too she does not trust David or any other Weyland made product. I hope she and us get the answers on why they wanted to destroy us. We are in a sense just like them, we make war, try to seed or terra-form, we spread and infect maybe thats why they dont want us around, we are their children so to speak.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

Oh this is a good one!  Two scenes!  1,) David practally tells Shaw that he wishes for his Parent AKA Emperor Wayland to be dead.  Of course he is programmed to do his bidding but this hints of rebellion and a wish to be SOUL free.  2.)Shaw was concerned that what ever got Charlie was going to infect the rest of the crew but David tells her that it won't happen.  She looks at him with suspision!  Making it evident that the company machine knows more than what is being said. She's frickin had it! This all eventually leads Both characters to taking an alien spaceship and flying off into certain danger which all pretty crazy.  But that's what makes us human right? Makes me wonder if Shaw will question David further about Charlies infection.  What will Dave tell her?

The questions would be would Shaw Trust David?

David is free now, i dont know if he would be looking out for the companies interests, i would have him gain his own freewill and Agenda more.

Shaw will be too busy to get her answers, this will take over what she thinks about the company.  I would then say after the events of Paradise she would get some answers but maybe not what she wants to hear and she will realise more of what LV 223 holds and maybe these Engineers would know and be concerned about Mankind’s ability to get to LV 223 and create Androids who can use Engineers Tech.

I recon it kicks off and the Engineers want to wipe mankind out, but David unleashes hell on them....

Shaw then realises while the Engineers are not a threat no more, LV 223 is still a place of death and that under no circumstances can she allow the Bio Weapons and Tech of LV 223 to fall into the hands of a company like Weyland....

This sets up Part 3 in which Shaw and David head back to LV 223 to destroy the place and at the end sees her Sacrifice herself to allow LV 223 to be destroyed.

Shaw would in this act think finally the threat is over, no more Engineers, no more Engineer Bio Weapons...

Only she does not know about the Derelict but the company does and it is the Derelict  that holds the last strand of Engineers Tech for the company to exploit and thus start a chain of horrors that Shaw thought her Sacrifice would had put a end to.

Well thats pretty much what my theory and ideas for that are, and what my draft was aiming towards.

Thank you for the feedback, very interesting.

here are more detailed ideas as to how i think the film's story should continue.

if the majority of the prometheus crew was regarded as impure from what the last

surviving engineer  observed before attacking everyone, maybe the exact same kind of

situation happened to the other dead engineers and he was the only "pure" one left or was

he just the last one ?

anyways, if shaw finds a way to make contact to their engineer homeland, i doubt she

would be welcome since she is using one of their warships?

in the weyland company's history there is information about the yutani company being

rivaled by weyland and we learn of a possible history of conflict between the u.s. and of an

asian country (possibly Japan).

the government will obviousely be informed of the Prometheus mission status because they

probably have the capacity to probe any ongoing mission from a terraformed planet that

may be close to zeta reticuli.

"Using the Weyland Atmospheric Processor, the first functional and breathable atmosphere

is produced on planet GJ 667Cc clearing the way for further terraforming activities on

other planets."

the us government and the asian country of that time might have joined forces in order to

make sure that the future missions will be done with more wisdom and accuracy .

it would be a fun idea to follow the story from there .

other idea for a backstory

we learn someone named "bishop" worked at weyland around 2094 this character might

have an interestig story throughout the next series of evens.

we know ash seemed like someone with a normal mission but had mission for the company

etc. and the opposite is  bishop; a perfectly able knife weilding android but that never hurt

anyone.

in alien3, was bishop the real bishop ? his ear was bleeding humand blood.  he must have

really cared to bring ripley back and expose the wrongdoings of w/y ?
