STARLOG issue 26 (September 1979): The Making of ALIEN

MemberPraetorianFeb-21-2014 11:32 AMHere's a little bit of nostalgia for our members. Inside the September 1979 issue 26 of the classic STARLOG magazine were 11 pages of ALIEN awesomeness, featuring interviews with Ridley Scott and H.R. Giger.
I still have my copy, kept in pretty near perfect condition. Starlog, Starburst, Fantastic Films and Fangoria were amongst the best magazines out there!
Enjoy!

MemberDeaconFeb-21-2014 5:56 PMNice upload, and interesting comments that do confirm they did want the Egg Chamber as a seperate location and not like the Pyramid in Star Beast but for it to be a Egg Silo of sorts.
Some other interesting parts too.

MemberOvomorphFeb-21-2014 9:02 PMI remember that issue. Had a subscription. When I got it I probably wore it out. Giger was also featured in Omni magazine at the same time. I might still have that issue, since I remember having an extra copy to keep as mint!
I was only 16 and couldn't see the movie because it was R rated and that really pissed me off. The novelization by Alan Dean Foster came out at the same time as the movie. I read that book in one day.

With the 35th Anniversary coming up, I've been looking through my magazine collection. Some of which I'd forgotten I had!
It's been great to re-read some of the early interviews and info. Made me feel really nostalgic [and old!!] Haha
