The Invitation

OK here is my idea and theory that i would like to see and its well what i made from the clues, if i ignore the whole Xeno connection as we do not know what that is yet.......

The idea of this movie seemed to be that the many ancient cultures and religions was just different interpretations of Ancient Alien Giant Beings from Space......  the movies clues as far as Holloway and Shaws work seem to show us these Engineers created life on Earth for what purpose we do not know.

But they seemed to care and nurture our race, helped us at different points to advance ourselves both technologically and maybe genetically... why? we cant be sure.

Now if we look at some of the Ancient Cultures and before the ONE GOD Religions, we was created and ruled over by a series of Gods, made in their image.... Ridley even said these Engineers are like Angels, and that LV 223 was Dark Angels, this means these Engineers was created to watch over mankind..... But some rebellion may have happened.

If we look at LV 223 there are many clues, why is there a Head Monument? For the Engineers to show a self worship, but why leave clues to LV 223 on Earth?

Maybe this place was to be a place of Paradise for us, maybe this place was a watch post that a selection of Engineers was tasked to watch over us from.  Maybe they was in the process of trying to Teraform the place for Mankind?

Why did the Temple have a Atmosphere? The Engineers could breath fine outside, the Xeno never needed a habitable atmosphere.  Does all this work seem to be so that Humans can survive inside those Temples?

This does not rule out that they needed this so we can be used as Hosts for the Xeno as we are no use Dead as Hosts?

Maybe this ties in with like the Annunaki tale, maybe these Engineers was created by the Elders to perform tasks that the Elders do no longer have to do, much like Weyland created David.

Maybe these Engineers got fed up of serving the Elders and Rebelled, maybe they then tried to then get Mankind to be servants to them but we did not and at this point they wanted to destroy us.

Maybe along the way these Engineers found something else to Worship.

What i am saying is what if LV 223 was a base these Engineers who are Gardeners are to watch over Mankind, but at some point maybe they rebelled against the Elders?  at some point they wanted to destroy us or replace us with something new.

So they then turned LV 223 from a Watchers Out Post to a Bio Weapons Facility.

Not sure thats whats going on, but i think that the above could have a little to do with whats going on,  as it makes less sense for Mankind to be created via Evoltion over thousands if  not millions (as opening scene did not create man right away.. unlike Spaights draft) just so we can then be used as Hosts for the Goo.

Never mind why Teraform LV 223 so its suited to mankind, and set a trap?

Unless they came and took some of us in the past to LV 223 to test the Bio Weapon on first?

ESSENTIALLY... Was the Engineers created by the Elders, thus they are like Angels are to God, and they became jealous of Gods favoured creation and they rebelled against their creators and then tried to get mankind to worship them or one of them, but then they ultimately wanted to destroy us too because we would not worship them...

Basically a fraction of Engineers/Angels/IGGI had decided they wanted to play the Gods and wipe out their creators and his latest creation....

This kind of route would explain a lot of things, such as why the Elders/Engineers never came back and that Paradise is not a thriving place, but a War Torn place with very little left of a once predominant civilisation that created the Engineers and us.

The spaihts script was very clear about the exact nature of the stone they found in the ocean. It was detailed and they had excact data. Why did they go away from this ?? Redant if you do read the two confirmed scripts of spaihts and lindeloff yoy will see that they deliberately move and cut scenes out of order to purposely make the movie confusing. So the same would apply to how they came to the pictograms being invitations. Look for a thread called "scientists destroy prometheus" started by necronom4. I just want him to see that the movie was made this way on purpose . But why and to what end ??

Perhaps like alien they simply threw things together like they did in alien that wasn't  supposed to work together . Oh well ........

The pictograms seems to be very much the same as in the relationships between the dots seem exactly the same ie angles distances as it seems they are combined in holloways presentation. The configuration should was the same for all civilisations. But over 35 000 years their configuration would have changed. So the trick the engineers tested us with was finding out what star system had that configuration 35 000 years ago . Very plausible. But thinking of it as an invitation ?? I dunno. Shaw remarks at the enf of the movie: we were wrong , we were so wrong. Meaning she no longer thinks of it as an invitation ??

Well the same is for me, if you highlight and copy the text onto a notepad etc then you can read what Oduodu  had typed...

As far as Shaw saying we was wrong.... i think it has many meanings, for example they hopped to find some beings who was Godlike and that they would find answers to life and a benevolent race.... but all they found was a race of mortals (ok ones who can live for much longer but can be killed) who basically made us a science experiment and they are a race who are not as Shaw had hoped they would had been and instead are malevolent race.

But now she wants answers to why?  Why go for all the effort to create us and visit us just to then destroy us... why?

This is why the movie idea at the start with the opening Scene and particularly the deleted one and how Shaw and Holloway found the clues in the Ancient Cultures on Earth and the connections to worship of a giant race of Alien Godlike beings... i.e Ancient Astronaught theory.

This was the basis of the movie from the start before they found LV 223 and the Urns and Alien connections Murals etc....

Through out the movie some hints are these beings created us, but then wanted us destroyed and they set out to wipe us out 2000 years ago... yes the relevance to time of Christ’s Death may be a red hearing but in Spaights ideas and what Ridley said was that Mankind had upset the Engineers and they sent down a emissary who we then killed and that was the last straw.

If we look at all the above, then these Engineers created us for some purpose and went through a considerable amount of effort and time to produce the final result and nurtured and visited us in the past etc....

For what just to invite us to LV 223 so we can be infected, just so thousands of years latter they can visit us with the Bio Weapon to Evolve us into Xeno-Esque creatures...

Maybe but seems a bit odd....

I would like to see them explore more of the Ancient Astronaught theory, answer why we was created.... i think loosely they should explore a common connection between these Engineers and Elders and many Ancient Cultures in particular the Annunaki which is the oldest recorded account of worship of God like beings from 6000+ Years ago.
