Who's agenda ?

From what I know now about the making of Prometheus, one of the scenes that sticks strongly in my mind is the â€˜agendaâ€™ meeting with Vickers. I wonder if this was based on Ridleyâ€™s meetings with the suits over Prometheus. I donâ€™t know if this was deliberate, but if you listen to the bits about who is in charge and whoâ€™s paying, it certainly has me wondering about how much of possibly Ridleyâ€™s dealings with Fox may have overspilt into the movie dialog. Any thoughts?

You may have hit the proverbial nail on the head Batch! :-) Given what we now know, the parallels may have been deliberate. Art imitating the reality! He may have more clout, more budget, but Ridley is still answerable to the FOX hierarchy.

Felt exactly the same way about the 'agenda' scene, it stood out as a message other than what was going on in the movie for sure.

I think that part says something about Vickers, being an inheritor of Peter Waylands company, it was important enough for her to be there. Her sibling rivalry with David is evident. There are probably other interested parties in this journey of Wayland like Military. She probably represents the Governments interesst in LV 223, especially that they discovered an alien transmission from LV 426 40 years earlier.

Woah, where does the 40 yrs ealier bit come from as this pre dates Alien? As in the transmission being discovered 40 yrs earlier.
