MemberOvomorphMar-30-2013 8:17 PMWhen the alien busted out of kanes chest and started killing all the crew...did they send out a distress call? I cant quite remember . I wonder what sort of reaction this may have caused on earth amongst the authorities if they did. If the colonial marines send out one too im pretty sure alot of alarms would of gone off . How would weyland kept this as a secret.....andriods in ICC?

MemberChestbursterMar-30-2013 8:22 PMI don't think they did. it seems like it would have been a good ideabut they didn't seem to think of it. plus they knew the company wouldn't actually save them. they would just try to get the alien so it was a lose, lose situation

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2013 8:34 PMIf you send out a distress call, anyone can pick it up.

MemberFacehuggerMar-31-2013 9:08 AMIt would have taken years before anyone would have picked up the distress call being so deep in space. By that time it would have already been to late.

I imagine any distress call would be hugely encrypted and eyes only. I bet all the info broadcasted from the Prometheus, Nostromo and Sulaco were never known to the public.

MemberChestbursterMar-31-2013 12:49 PMStill... I just don't think it would have done anyone good if they did in Alien. if someone got the message it doesn't have to be a movie per say, but it would lead to just another ship finding an Alien(possibly) and yet another, probabaly mediocre Alien movie. I kow you aren't suggesting another movie, im just saying that's how I think a distress call from the nostromo would end up. Also, wouldn't the signal stop being transmitted when it exploded or is the message still going through space because it was already let out?

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2013 4:27 PMActually, your incorrect about that, not only will the signal keep going but its like a stars light that keeps going until it hits your retina here on earth. Picture this, just because its been sent out doesnt mean it just stops. Physics dont work the way you want them too, the radio waves would keep going b/c they were sent out already so how can you stop a transmission if its already out there traveling. I wonder if the Engineers picked up the signal and immediately knew they ran into LV-426 or LV-223. Regardless if tthey picked it up its still out there (in the movie) going in all directions.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2013 10:06 PMI realize that sending a distress signal would abit futile, but i think I would send one anyway. Perhaps there is some sort of regulation that prohibits deep space transmissions. Maybe due to the fact some other species may pick them up?
