Type 1: The Engineers - the men/man we see during the opening sequence, carrying out a spiritual ritual, these guys are the real Engineers that Shaw was looking for. They have two distinctive features: 1) no body armour/exoskeleton, and 2) disc-shaped spacecraft. Type 2: The Space-Jockeys - the men we see throughout the movie carrying out what appears to be a military operation. Distinctive features: 1) body armour/exoskeleton, 2) horseshoe-shaped spacecraft. The point: The Engineers have nothing to do with the operation Prometheus stumbles onto in the film. The Space-Jockeys are the ones that want Humanity gone. Are they a species divided?

I brought this up in te topic I started yesterday. In my mind, they are 2 distinct species / genetic mutations. Humanity finds the WRONG Engineers - the good Engineers left us WARNINGS not to go there, not invitations.
