A lot have people have used this excerpt from a spoofy interview on the red carpet at the 2006 release of Pirates of the Caribbean 2. That a YouTuber Jordan Morris does as he is dressed as a hobbit acting like he is shopping a script for Lord of the Rings 4. You can view both parts or his whole red carpet video and see that James Cameron's comments are done in jest. im trying to find the interview i was referring to in my other post. the one i mentioned is not the abovementioned clip. cameron is very clear on his dislike of the avp films. And like others have said, all of these movies (aliens) have gone in such a dramatically different direction than the first film....its a mess (i do like aliens...its like die hard meets vietnam war flick meets alien). Point is...Alien is the foundation and the life of the entire franchise. Either way, No predator has EVER existed within the fictional "alien universe" (literary sense). They dont exist. AVP is a monster of the week jerk off session. end of story. (btw, my ire is not directed @2bull. its directed at AVP(s)).

Well even though I should hate AVP, it turns out to be a kind of guilty pleasure of mine. I really liked the underground pyramid. Charles Bishop Weyland as played by Lance Henrickson, the creature effects on both the alien warriors and the Queen and the predators. I do agree that the overall idea of pitting one franchise asset against another owned by the same studio is just a cheezy idea and harder than hell to take seriously, but having said that, they did about as good as you could with the material considering that fact. Of course I can't watch it over and over like I can Aliens but maybe twice a year.....What can I say, I am a total Alien/Prometheus geek and even this hybrid captures my imagination.
