MemberOvomorphNovember 07, 2012 Weyland is hearing from Shaw details and events that happenned while he was asleep. She gave him this information because she could see that things were not what was expected when the trip commenced
What I thought was of interest was Weyland's reaction to Shaw's info. He took it in and immediatly asked what would Charlie do.
There was no delay.
There was no additional questions about the events that have transpired in our movie.
Even for an old guy he didn't react even though(seemingly) she is saying his dream of immortality cannot or shouldn't be reached,
No, Weyland didn't miss a step and like he knew all of these things all along,,though he had just been taken from the sleep chamber..
As a leader of such a vast Corporation he is used to in complete knowledge of not only the facts but alternatives to just about any situation. His actions demostrate what is on his mind, his goals and in this case despite what Shaw is telling him..he was going to meet his maker.
What Shaw percieves as being threat is a reason for going home now. Weyland just wanted to make the trip to the Juggernaut, meet the Last Engineer, and cheat death.
I just thought it was a pivotal scene in a complex movie..especially as Weyland is now in the lead of advancing the storyline.
One last observation, When Shaw mentions that Holloway is dead,,she glances to David as she knew that David killed him.
David has just glanced back at Shaw wondering what she might say to Weyland.
There is more to the scene meets the eye ..at least on the first viewing.
