The engineers god

who knows maybe this giant head represents an elder in his youth, but then again i could be wrong. Personally i dont like the idea that the jockeys even should have a creator, it sort of lowers the standard of the jockey knowing that they arent as big as we thought they were now that they have a superior.

Yes Ridley is supposedly redesigning them and he also hinted at a god like being but I think that there worshipped gods will be much like ours - the creator of the universe type god but not in the bible sense (was it 10000 years ago?) but the science sense 13.7 billion years ago. I for one believe science and religion will merge completely for us one day but allot of the religions need to cast off there clearly written by men texts and embrace scientific facts. God is already comming into science but proving anything is so far off and we may never be able to do it :S ...and if there is no creator then how did the universe come into being all questions far beyond any human right now :P !

You know, now that Prometheus has 'explained the Space Jockey' (well, not to everyone's satisfaction) the next thing for a second movie to explain is THE GIANT HEAD that was part of all the pre-release media then was COMPLETELY OVERLOOKED during the course of the film. [img]http://moviecultists.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Prometheus-Head.jpg[/img] The Giant Head's etched cheeks, for example, should have had some sort of TRANSLATIONAL VALIDITY to the narrative at the very least. Were they a WARNING? Were they a STATEMENT? Were they INSTRUCTIONS?

I think Ridley simply wanted to cut the Elders scene out and the full David and Engineer scene because they would have given hints and some answers to who the Engineers are, what they want, why they created us etc. I think Ridley wanted these to be kept a Mystery for Prometheus 2. I would not be shocked if the deleted Full Sacrificial Scene actually makes it into Prometheus 2 as another flash back. Most likely in response to questions of why we was created by Shaw to the Elders when they discover them in Prometheus 2. Some are expecting to see the true gods as the Elephant Space Jockey or even Xeno Looking.... but i think they will again be left disappointed.

I am so looking forward to this becoming a reality in the sequel. One must ask the question - is it possible nowadays to create a filmic being or 'god' that will be so frightening, so hateful, it will burn itself into our nightmares for years afterwards? I think, using the right talent and plenty of forethought, it is very possible. Although I love Prometheus to bits, Ridley Scott has yet to fulfil his promise (for me at least) that he'll 'scare the living s**t out of us'. We shall see......

Based on a theory from this thread: http://www.prometheusforum.net/discussion/3082/ladies-and-gentlemen-the-tomb-of-satan-/p1 and the disappearing mural with Marduk and Mushussu, the dark angels comments by Scott, and the lining up of mythologies space jockeys/babylonian religion/annunaki, I believe this is their leader, and he is Marduk/Baal/Lucifer, or it least those ancient beings are based on this being. Plus, the mural has what looks like a giant tree (tree of knowledge of good and evil) which the green crystal sitting on an altar parallel to the lips, could represent this knowledge that was passed on "prometheus style" to man via Lucifer. The xeno is analogous to the serpent, and thus the serpents (xenos) are a twisted creation of Lucifer, head of the dark engineers. Just a theory of mine on the last part, but it does seem to add up.

As Calpamos shared a link up there, this Prometheus story is based on Sumerians' and Akads' mythodology. If they will keep going sticked with this mythodology, we probably wont be able to see the god of the engineers but we could see the leader of the engineers who have more chromosome than humanbeings. And we will know why the engineers created us( Engineers created the humanbeings as servants to them. At first, humanbeings were created without a brain then by the command of the leader, they were given a brain. I wrote the rest in my thread here 'The story of Prometheus 2'.
