MemberNeomorphAug-25-2012 11:21 AMI actually like Alien 3. It has alot of Good Points: Great sets, good Acting and Some Good ideas. However, it has a few Bad Points, like the Alien Dog complete with Poor animatronics! Etc etc.
But there is a Big Question that really Bugs me; HOW did that Egg get up there?
In the Opening scene, where it shows Ripleys Cryo Chamber, damaged by Acid, just before they are ejected from the Salaco, it shows an Egg attached to the Ceiling? How did that get there?
It couldn't have been the Queen, because she only made it to the Cargo Bay and then she was Ejected by Ripley. It couldn't have been Burke that put it there because he never made it back to the Ship. So how did it get there? and who put it there?

MemberOvomorphAug-25-2012 5:33 PMwell you are commenting on you and guys that actually have respect for us ladies!! you guys are much too few around here!
in history and present (had the unfortunate luck to meet such a person, and the mistake of dating one) there are men that call these things female because they think of us as belongings and objects also. such people have the tendency to call everything they own "she" and treat their partner as if they owned them like a pet.
luckily i have known people on both sides of the spectrum so i dont have ill will towards the entire male gender :) especially since i have met plenty of female jerks also.
but i still do like "father ship", never heard that before and found it very futuristic. also many computerized/ AI voices for such things are commonly female. it is nice to see a change.
sometimes i prefer male voices, like "kit" or "hal". they fit their vehicles very well and have a nice calm voice easy on the ears. even when they are scary as hell... like hal!

MemberNeomorphAug-25-2012 5:49 PMYeah, you know there is good and bad in every gender and race. My Wife had a really bad time with Blokes, until she met me. I thought i had restored her faith in Men, until last night in bed when i Trumped and pulled the blanket over her head. Childish, i know.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphAug-25-2012 6:23 PMif that if childish then i am a child, i "dutch oven" my boyfriend all of the time lol. especially after i eat a lot of cabbage or eggs haha.
true, i have had many friends of many races and ive moved to a new place and the particular majority race there didnt like me and made racist comments, i didnt get it. i was raised in a military family so i was used to a lot of races and genders being equal. i was pretty culture shocked when my dad retired.
its odd, the majority of my friends have always been guys, nice guys, and i always ended up with some prick go figure. at least i have a very low BS level and know when to hightail it out of there.
im glad your wife found someone nice, even with the farts lol.

MemberNeomorphAug-25-2012 10:23 PMAlien 3 has also left the door open for another Sequel. In Alien, we see Dallas and Brett mutating into eggs. So it would be reasonable to assume that a few of the convicts were also being mutated? At the end, they only close the facility down. They don't destroy it.
But maybe that wouldn't be such a great idea. We would probably end up with somethin like Alien Reserrection.

MemberOvomorphAug-26-2012 4:14 AMHow did the egg get on the sulocko? If you noticed when the showed the flash shot of the egg, it was up high on the corner almost upside down. my theory is that the queen laid an egg in the undercarriage (landing gear) of the drop ship.
the extended verison of alien 3 is way way better than the theatrical verison....a must see if you are an alien fan.
I thought that vincent ward wrote alien3.....all they did was change the setting of the movie.

MemberTrilobiteAug-26-2012 7:01 AM@ pulserifle187,
No Vincent Ward just got a writers credit in the opening credits because he had actually been paid for the work that he had done, and the sets and costumes that had been made prior to David Fincher being contracted (which he had to incorporate into his screenplay) had been made as per Vincent Wards screenplay.
As to your Egg question - No one knows, just like the human versus android debate for the character Bishop II.

MemberOvomorphAug-26-2012 8:36 AMthere seemed to be 2 eggs in the EEV from the Sulaco ship:
one that gets to Ripley
one that gets to the dog/ox.
I'm starting to believe it really was a cloaked Predator who put them there... NOT. lololol.

MemberNeomorphAug-26-2012 10:23 AM@pulserifle187. That's my thought aswell. A few replies back, on this thread, i said that the Queen must have layed an Egg on the Drop Ship (in the landing gear). But like Davy said, it would have been 2 eggs! I also said that there must have been somebody else onboard, an unseen Weyland Yutani Employee, maybe another Ash? The Weyland Employee, hidden away on the Sulaco, would have carried the eggs to the EEV or cryo sleep area.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphAug-27-2012 4:15 AMwhen the sulaco could fire the cryo tubes were moved to the EEV . maybe ripley was "infected" before then . hmmm
the predators are my second bet thou.
"how do you feel?"-" great, next stupid question"

Gavin
MemberTrilobiteAug-27-2012 7:54 AM@ pulserifle187,
The sequence of events is pretty clearly shown at the beginning of Alien 3...
- Egg seen lodged above Cryo-Tubes.
- Facehugger spits acid at Newts Cryo-Tube, causing an electric fire.
- Fire alarm causes Cryo-Tubes to be deployed in the EEV.
- Facehugger smashes glass on Ripleys Cryo-Tube.
- Facehugger hugs Ripley as EEV is launched.
The problems with the eggs are...
- The eggs are shown near the cryo-tubes not the dropship, so wasn't the Queen, she never left the hangar area.
- The egg on the Sulaco is shown high up, which makes absolutely no sense. A second android wouldn't put the egg up there.
...Its all because of David Giler, that scene was shot by him, so despite owning the production rights to these creatures and their universe, and having been involved in every movie (including the AVP's) he hasn't a clue about the franchise he (for no good reason) owns.

pulserifle187
MemberOvomorphAug-28-2012 7:00 AMthink maybe he just sees apile of money....yeah i agree he has no idea about the franchise ( or inclination for that matter)

MemberNeomorphAug-28-2012 8:47 PM@Snorks. I've just had a thought. What if, the reason the egg was attached to the ceiling, upside down, is because if the egg is placed in the normal position (the right way up) it only hatches when it detects life. Maybe in the upside down position, it is forced to hatch? Because lets face it, Ripley, Newt and Hicks were in cryo sleep, there wouldn't have been any movement or much body heat.

MemberOvomorphOct-08-2012 6:52 AMwell near the end of aliens when they get back on board the sulako the alien queen is hiding may be she planted it before she ripped bishop in half , but have to alien 3 was awesome just as the first 2 movies then they spoiled it by making ressurection

MemberOvomorphOct-19-2012 7:35 AMThere is a reason the egg's origin was never explained... because there's no way to explain it. It simply doesn't make sense that it's there. You just have to take it for what it is. Along with the fact that this one special facehugger can apparently deposit two eggs (1 queen, 1 normal) before dying. None of it makes sense.
That said, considering all of the resistance and complications Fincher encountered, it is not a terrible movie (especially the extended cut).

MemberOvomorphOct-19-2012 7:19 PMThey should've just removed that scene when they re-edited it for the Special Edition (which I'm watching for the first time now). An egg couldn't have got on board the Sulaco but a facehugger could, especially if it was a Super Facehugger (which they actually designed & created). A Super Facehugger could be born directly from the Queen & not via an egg. This Facehugger would be born as a result of the the Queen detaching itself from the egg sack. It's such an obvious idea that I'm amazed they went with the MASSIVE plot hole.

MemberOvomorphNov-10-2012 6:04 PMThe only theory I can think is the queen but she produced an egg by herself similar to ALIEN director's cut where Ripley finds Dillian in an egg.
I believe the queen created an egg inside her developing an asexual reproduction without an egg sack and without a human to turn into an egg.
She used her DNA to produced another queen (just in case she might get killed) and then place the egg somewhere safe.
The other facehugger manage to get on the ship since their are aliens everywhere.
Another theory the script has been rewritten countless times and had to start without a script so it was super rushed anyway so lets just say it was put their just to start the movie.

MemberOvomorphNov-12-2012 7:52 PMLets face it Alien 3 is just based on a f**ked up script and the multiple eggs is just another example of how flawed this movie is. Combine that with the terrible creature effects and killing off Newt and Hicks and what do you get. BS!!! There are a few parts of that movie that are pretty good and I have written about it at length here but I just can't justify the magical eggs scenario.

MemberChestbursterJan-16-2013 10:14 PMi just watched alien 3 the other day and i realized my main wish with it. why wan't the alien bigger? i know it came out of a realtively small animal but when i t bursted it it was huge for being a newborn!! the same way i expect the deacon from prometheus to be very large. also, it would have worked out for the size if the ox burster scene was used
