The sequel/s to Prometheus and alien / human DNA in the making of the xenomorph.

But that will make it more of alien movie than a prometheus one. I mean the goal for prometheus was to chase SJ, AFAIT.

And it would make Alien look less alien, so to speak. One of the many things that made alien a perfect movie was the strange, alien factor in scenes like the space jockey reveal and the eggs chamber. So, if that deadly creature was actually just an incident that envolved humans...wouldn't be cool, in my opinion...

This is the opposite of what i'd want. I believe the classic Alien is an older creature than that. The new movies will probably steer farther away from the xeno.

I think those eggs had SJ DNA, which then combined with human DNA to give us the mighty Xeno. The deacon is a product of different structures, maybe more crude, maybe not. Looks like it'll be huge in its final form, though. And, since these things change quite a bit as they grow, it should be quite dreadful. I hope we get a glimpse of that.

prometheus showed engineer DNA having close match to humans. so how come two human type DNAs will make xeno? xeno's are parasite during their growth stage. they can be fed on any host, it doesn't matter what that animal is there.

There's something else in there, though. Prometheus had Facehugger come from humans, the original Alien had humans being transformed into face huggers, though the scene was cut. What those might have been like is unknown? Maybe the Trilobite was one of many types. What the film seems to be saying for sure is that reproduction is at its core the same everywhere. Fertility as a weapon.

For clarity: the trilobite was a Facehugger meant for some other type of much bigger thing. But still the one on screen was influence by Shaws DNA? Or maybe she was a close enough match to produce a Hugger meant to subdue an Engineer.

The Deacon is a first generation Xenomorph, after generations of using hosts to propagate the result would be the Alien that comes out of Kane.

[i]That only[/i] if we assume,[u] it is not a prequel[/u] (with all those floating threads about it and the answer from writers and directors. ) If it is prequel then deacon and xeno relation makes sense, Otherwise it is not related to xenomorph, even if director says so because director can't say it's not prequel on one side and say it's xeno's earlier form at the same time. XENO is common variable in between alien and prometheus series, not the story line. If deacon is earlier form of xeno, it's prequel, If it is going to deviate away from XENO to some other creature with higher intellect or equal intellect like humans, it's not prequel (or whatever they planned for second movie).

I'm thinking it's not a prequel only because it doesn't end with the story of the Derelict. Otherwise, all other processes apply?

The difference is - Planet (as per directors) and form of alien. If you see the wall paintings. The alien form in the prometheus temple wall looks way different. Sort of slim figure queen type of creature. We all know that as per aliens, the queen design is very different. It doesn't match with deacons form at all. I have a theory on this, will see If i can jott up fan plot lol.

I don't want that Alien having anything to do with humans in the process of it's creation. But of course, Lindelof thought it would be funny, and has gone as far as to say exactly that in an interview I can't find for the life of me at the moment............. I'll have a Google and update soon!

I dont know that all sounds like you're going in the whole "Queen" direction which was only what Cammeron added to the series. Its nice Idea but I think the whole Idea of the Xenomorph is so intruiging, its needs to be justified in a more complicated way I think. I had an Idea that green crystal object Holloway saw at that altar beneath the mural, was a fossil like resin, which contained the very DNA of the original (now) extinct Xenomorph creature. And that the engineers actually discovered large quantities of the green fossil/resin like substance from a meteor that maybe hit 1 of thier neighboring planets (not in the same system). Further-more the engineers needed another creature to fill in the dna sequence which enabled them to clone/ressurect the xenomorph in a sense. Abit Jurrassic park inspired, but it cud explain how the whole thing came from a facehugging, spider-like creature to what it essentially becomes.

It is quite possible that the sequel of Prometheus can be a Spin-Off, so I'm not quite sure if we will see the direct connections with Alien, maybe if we're lucky some subtle answers ... who knows after all...but you should take into account one thing...probably the "croissant Derelict" has long been on LV-426.

I seriously doubt that the Deacon is a prequel to the Alien Xeno, as the murals already had Xeno forms on, so it'd have to be a previously known species, or how would they depict them? The DNA crossovers & multi-level genetic twists did fracture my mind though, admittedly.

I do not remember which interview it was but I'm pretty sure I have read that the derelict on LV-426 was older than 2000 years which agrees with the "fossil-like" SJ, the Nostromo crew encounter. This means that the ship would have crash- landed on LV-426 well before the Engineers in Prometheus were preparing to go to earth before something went wrong (hologram scene etc ...). How the company finds out about the warning beacon on LV-426 is a mistery. Happy to be wrong on this as I would prefer a direct link of course and the SJ crash on LV-426 to be a future event.
