MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 5:05 PMOkay, just a quick question as it's been bugging me for a while and I haven't seemed to find anything about it on the internet.
In Alien3, the way I perceived it was that Ripley finds an alien on her scan, and that it is in her head? At least that's what it looked like to me when watching the film. If this is the case then, in the theatrical release, why does the Alien then come out of her abdomen at the end?
I'm probably just missing something and the answer will be obvious.

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 5:46 PMJust watched Alien 3 and the extras on Alien Anthology. The young queen is in fact in Ripley's chest. It is right up against her beating heart. The extras show the scan without the distortion that was used in the movie. You should check it out. Hope that helps!

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 5:50 PMIt looks to be too large to travel down her throat to her uterus. It just confuses me everytime, of course it's not a problem in the special edition as it doesn't burst from her chest at all - although in Resurrection, again it is seen coming out of her abdomen. Of course, it could have just been for dramatic effect more than anything.

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 5:52 PMOh I see, I shall definitely have to check out those extras, I bought Alien Anthology 2 days ago on Blu Ray, and I'm currently suffering through Resurrection (although I'm unsure why), just so I've watched them all again before watching the extras.

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 6:03 PMDisk 5, just go to Making of Alien 3. Lots of extras. Including the production nightmare and the fact that originally it was supposed to have been on something that looked like the Death Star with an all wood interior. Very strange!!

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 6:09 PMYeah I think I've read something about the wood interior. The only other thing as a side note - is that Ripley complains (or makes suggestion) that she has headaches - again probably just reading into it - will certainly check out these extras.
