MemberOvomorph02/5/2012Of course, in reality the Space Jockey is an amalgam of ideas. I think you might find Horse Skull and even Elephant as the basis of the Space Jockey face. The create is "goring out of the chair" so it's either an entity which has been encased into the chair by some mecho-organic process or it has literally bee created by the craft. Or perhaps the craft was created from the machine. I think the most likely explanation is that it is a human or humanoid that has been transformed as part of the chair. But that humanoid undergoes dramatic changes. As the crew of the Nostromo see that the fossilised remains are bones that are bent outward. So there is a complete biological change. Either that or it's a "pain in the ass for continuity and this is only a movie so we do what the heck we like!".
Well I've created a few roughs to see what a create might look like. Remember that all that's left are bones, so there must have been muscles and skin of some description.
